This is our original Mocha bean from years ago. We have chosen not to source it as the price for the green stock went through the roof. Whilst it’s still high, it has come back down significantly – so we’ve taken the plunge and offer it for your tasting pleasure. We originally spent literally over a year in perfecting the roast for this specific blend to make its flavours come alive to the point that they explode through your mouth – like no other coffee I have encountered (not exaggerating). This coffee WILL satisfy any and every desire you could wish for in a cup – especially milk based coffees. You must try this blend – you will seriously miss out on one of life’s true pleasures if you don’t…. There is a true level of fulfillment when you taste it.
Beautiful chocolates (not cocoa or burnt flavours – but actual chocolate flavours) abound in this glorious flavourful cup of magnificence. Hints of hazelnut and mild tobacco (I know, it sounds weird – but don’t be put off – the flavours really work soooo well together). Not sour nor bitter – just sublime. Mild sweet acidity with superb milk cut through – and the crema – don’t even get me started…. thick globby wonderment. Stunning as both a black and milk based coffee. This is by far our most popular choice for coffee fanatics and everyday drinkers. Incredible flavour – nothing crazy or ‘left field’ – just absolutely magnificent tasting – the types of flavours you would wish for out of a perfect cup of coffee – try this first and it may well become your number one coffee of all time – it really is that amazing!
One added bonus – there are little to no pesticides used in the farming of this beautiful coffee blend.

I’m sure there’s plenty of people that would enjoy this coffee, but having a preference for medium/dark to darker roasts I found this coffee to be a bit of a non event. Thanks to Ben I managed to get the best out of these beans by raising the temp to 95c and the pump pressure to 12bar. Problem is I’m a little unsure how good for my machine running continually at 12 bar will be, therefore for me that would be another reason not to buy these beans again. Lesson learnt that when trying something different perhaps buy a small bag not one kilogram.

It’s a shame it didn’t work out – it’s a unique tasting bean that is actually our second most popular bean after the standard Mocha. Also thanks for making the adjustments on your machine in order to get the best out of the coffee. Unfortunately all of our roasting practices are geared towards a full bodied medium roast level to maximise the sweetness and depth of the chocolates – as this seems to satisfy the majority of customers. We have roasted darker and deeper in the past to explore the market desire – but it was very polarising – so we’ve had to listen and adapt.
We have other offerings that can offer different balances in the chocolate / acid ratio and I’d obviously encourage you to explore more of our range to see what may suit your particular tastes the best.
